Mid-East Drumheads GT18-MD Editorial Review
### Editorial Review The Goatskin 18" Medium banjo head has garnered a mix of reviews from customers, highlighting its suitability for various musical applications despite some concerns regarding thickness. Reviewers appreciate the product for its authenticity and quality, particularly those involved in the restoration of vintage instruments. One user successfully utilized the skin in restoring a turn-of-the-century Silverstone banjo, praising its accurate size and clean finish, which allowed them to achieve the genuine sound reminiscent of the instrument's original design. However, there are discrepancies regarding the thickness of the skin. While some customers have found it to be adequate for their needs, others have noted that it doesn't match the expected thickness of "4-5 sheets of paper," which could impact performance for certain playing styles or instruments. Nonetheless, several users reported successful applications beyond banjos, including djembe drums, indicating versatility in usage. Overall, the Goatskin banjo head appears to be a solid choice for musicians seeking authenticity and quality in their instrument’s sound, albeit with a caveat regarding its reported thickness. ### Pros and Cons **
