- Baki (1526-1600): Şiirlerinde Baki mahlasını kullanan şairin asıl adı Mahmud Abdülbaki'dir, şairler sultanı olarak anılır. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu bürokrat ve şairlerinin XVI. yüzyılda en önde gelenidir. Kanuni'yi saltanatı süresince en çok memnun eden işlerden biri Baki gibi bir kabiliyeti keşfetmiş olmasıydı. Baki, Ziya Paşa'nın Harabat'ında ilk yenilikçi olarak nitelendirilir, Muallim Naci'ye göre milletin lisan muallimi, Recaizade'nin şiir terazisinde Osmanlı şuarasının Hafız-ı Şirazi'si, Tanpınar'ın gözünde ise mahir bir şiir işçisidir. Lirik söz dizimi, kusursuz biçimi, sağlam söz ve anlam örgüsü, temiz ve ahenkli söyleyişi ile Osmanlı şiirinin en önemli şairlerinden biri olan Baki, Divan'ının yanı sıra Mealimü'l-Yakin fi Sireti Seyyidi'l-Mürselin, Fezailü'l-Cihat, Fezail-i Mekke ve Hadis-i Erbain Tercümesi adlı seçkin nesir eserlerin de yazarıdır.
