- Selçuk Baran'ın yedi öykü kitabı daha önce Yapı Kredi Yayınları'ndan Ceviz Ağacına Kar Yağdı (2008) adıyla tek ciltte toplanmıştı. Bütün öyküleri şimdi gözden geçirilerek, yazar portreli kapaklarla ayrı ayrı basılıyor.Selçuk Baran'ın ilk öykü kitabı Haziran (1972) 1973 Türk Dil Kurumu Öykü Ödülü'ne değer görülmüştü. Ceviz Ağacına Kar Yağdı, Zambaklı Adam, Kavak Dölü gibi yirmi bir unutulmaz öyküden oluşan kitap çıktığı tarihte güçlü bir yazarın gelişini müjdelemişti.Yalnızlık ve umutsuzluk dolu öykülerinde düşsel, şiirli bir hava yaratmakta başarı gösterdiği kabul edilen Selçuk Baran, Behçet Necatigil'den Vedat Günyol'a, Füsun Akatlı'dan Selim İleri'ye, Hulki Aktunç'tan İbrahim Yıldırım'a, İnci Aral'dan Behçet Çelik'e pek çok yazarın övgüyle üstünde durduğu, ancak günümüz okuru tarafından daha fazla keşfedilmeyi bekleyen bir yazar.Hayır, baharla gelen bir ruh zayıflığı filan değildi!
