This ancient war story, full of the horror of blood and the sadness of tears, has always been considered a masterpiece, the starting point of poetry and even all literature. The details of this war, which took place in Anatolian lands, have become the main source from which the visions of the entire literary tradition gush out. These verses, which have been read with different translations for more than 2000 years, gain a flow in Erman Gören's Turkish that is worthy of the speed of the war scenes, without ignoring the strangeness of Homer's words, which can sometimes seem chilling. With this work, which is the result of many years of effort and enriched with a comprehensive introduction and a voluminous dictionary, Turkish gains a complete translation made from Ancient Greek, faithful to Homer's word (epos).
