Mine arrived damp, no mould and some form of timber treatment which seems to have worked ok on my staked dahlias as the stakes showed very little base rot after 8 months in ground. Biggest problem with them was the knotty timber which snapped the stake when hammering into ground. About 20% broken. Reasonable value when compared to garden centre prices but of course you cannot choose what you get in the bundle and they are cut from poor grade timber.
