Roland FP-E50 Digital Piano The Roland FP-E50 Digital Piano is a crossover instrument that combines the SuperNATURAL Piano sound engine with the Zen Core synthesizer sound engine. It is a well-designed and thoughtfully crafted instrument that provides a delightful playing experience. One standout feature of the FP-E50 is its keyboard. It comes with Roland's PHA-4 keyboard, which is highly regarded in the industry for its authentic feel and responsiveness. Playing on this keyboard feels just like playing on a grand piano. The display screen on the FP-E50 initially appears small, but as you use it, you realize that it provides just the right amount of information. For example, it shows when you have accurately played chords like E7. The display adds a helpful visual element to your playing experience. While the FP-E50 has many positive aspects, there are some compromises that have been made. One such compromise is the speaker system. Roland has opted for a smaller speaker output and compensated for this by using an extra-large soundbox. This has increased the height of the instrument by about two inches. While this might not be a big issue for some, it can take some time to adjust to the new key positions and the extra stretch required to play comfortably. Lowering the stand may seem like a possible solution to the height issue but it can cause problems with knee space and pedal positioning.
